Glass & Glazing
This section sets out the material, visibility, edge protection and minimum thickness requirements for glazing and mirrors used in stand construction.
Glass Requirements
All glazing and mirrors used in stand construction must be made from laminated safety glass.
Annealed and tempered glass are not permitted.
The material must comply with the applicable Spanish AENOR, British or European standards, including, where applicable, BS 6206, BS 6262 or BS EN 12600.
Documentary evidence or appropriate product labelling is required.
Visibility & Edge Protection
Large, uninterrupted areas of clear glazing or mirrors must be made clearly visible using warning stripes, dots, logos or other similar means.
Corners must be polished or protected where they would otherwise present an impact hazard.
Overhead Glazing
Overhead glazing or mirrors must be made from wired or laminated glass to ensure that they are adequately protected against shattering.
Glass walls on upper levels of double deck stands may require handrails. Refer to the Barriers, Balustrades & Handrails regulation for further information.
Minimum Laminated Glass Thickness
The table below sets out the minimum laminated glass thickness required according to the maximum pane size.
