Enclosed Exhibition Stands (50% Rule)

The purpose of this rule is to preserve visibility throughout the exhibition. Visually enclosed stands are not permitted. 

  • Exhibits and walling must be positioned so that they do not obstruct the view of the exhibition or adjacent stands. Under no circumstances may neighbouring stands be visually blocked from the rest of the exhibition. 
  • No more than 50% of any open side of a stand may have a non-transparent external wall. 
  • Low walling or handrails up to 1.1m in height are considered open. 
  • Walls may not be stepped back in order to overcome this rule. 
  • Solid runs of walling along open perimeters are not permitted unless facing a Venue wall. 
  • The upper deck of double deck stands may be completely enclosed. 
  • The external finish of the stand must be the same as the internal finish, or equivalent in build quality. 

Exceptions 

Exceptions to the above may be considered by the Organisers on a case-by-case basis and only where all affected neighbouring stands have agreed in writing. 

Build-up 

Visual enclosures used to protect privacy during build-up are only permitted if they are structurally sound and kept within the boundaries of the stand space.
