Floor service chests, also referred to in some Venue documentation as service ducts, must remain accessible at all times.

Where a platform is installed above a floor service chest, access to the floor service chest below must be provided.

Where a floor service chest is shared between more than one stand within a block of stands, it must remain accessible at all times through an access hatch.

Platforms used only to accommodate electrical cables should be at least 50mm high. Where a water connection is planned for a neighbouring stand, a platform of 100mm may be required.

Exhibitors planning to install a platform lower than 100mm should first check whether any neighbouring stand will require a water connection from a floor service chest located within their stand space.

Where a platform is higher than 50mm and may be used by people, an access ramp must be provided. Refer to Ramps - Disabled Access for the applicable requirements.

If a cable becomes disconnected for any reason, the floor service chest must remain accessible to the technical teams.

Where a floor service chest is partially covered by a partition wall or is located at the boundary of a stand, the area around the floor service chest must remain accessible.
