Ceiling / Roof Installations

Ceiling materials must be fire-retardant and non-combustible, with provisions for adequate ventilation and fitted with smoke detectors.

Fully enclosed ceilings are subject to prior venue approval. All ceiling structures must be securely fixed, structurally stable, and compliant with load-bearing requirements.

CCTV installation is mandatory for stands or rooms within a stand where the ceiling structure covers more than 50% of the total area. If the ceiling coverage is less than 50%, the stand or room is not considered enclosed, and therefore CCTV installation is not required.  See CCTV section for further information.

Ceiling designs must not obstruct venue CCTV coverage; enclosed ceilings may require internal CCTV installation for venue security assessment.

Exhibitors may cover their stands with a ceiling structure provided that they observe the material specifications and health & safety regulations, particularly regarding smoke detectors.  Please check the Stand Build Regulations section for these regulations.

Ceilings and roof installations that can be seen from an elevated position, in particular from the venue first floor VIP and Meeting Rooms, must be finished to the same standard as the rest of the stand.

** Please Note that there are meeting rooms that run the length of the 1st floor of the DECC south side which have a clear view over the exhibition hall.  Please consider the position of your stand and whether it is necessary to include a ceiling.**

All space only stands must at least be "capped off", where the top of the stand is dressed to conceal internal structures when viewed from above.  The Organisers may, at their discretion, require changes to be made to ceiling and roof finishing at the expense of the Exhibitor.
