Batteries & Energy Storage

All batteries brought to the venue, whether integrated into products on display, used as backup power or part of e-mobility devices, must be in good condition. Damaged, swollen or leaking batteries are strictly prohibited and must be removed from the venue immediately. 

Rules 

  • Batteries must be stored away from heat sources and flammable materials, and must not obstruct emergency exits or fire safety equipment at any time. 
  • Charging within the stand is only permitted using manufacturer-approved chargers. 
  • Batteries must not be left charging unattended outside show opening hours. 
  • All lithium-ion batteries must have passed UN 38.3 testing. 
  • The manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) must be available on site upon request. 
  • In an emergency.

In the event of overheating or any sign of thermal runaway, do not handle the battery. Evacuate the area and alert venue security immediately. 

Advance notification 

Batteries or energy storage systems with a total capacity exceeding 2 kWh require notification in advance. Submit the Special Activity Form with the total capacity, battery chemistry and installation details.
