Build-up

The build schedule for MWC27 Barcelona has been adapted to meet the growing needs of exhibitors whilst providing the safest practicable environment during build-up. With the extended official build period, we aim to enhance safety conditions and create a more efficient working environment, ensuring exhibitor services are delivered at the right time for a smoother, more predictable build experience. Exhibitors should plan the design of their stand space with the level of complexity that can realistically be built within the official build-up period.

Double Deck Stands: Exhibitors may combine the square metres (m²) of both the ground floor and upper deck to determine their allocated access day.

Rigging Order Deadline: Exhibitors planning to begin construction between 11–14 February 2027 must have their rigging orders confirmed by 15 December 2026. Those who do not confirm by this date will not be permitted to begin construction before 15 February 2027.

Access schedule applies per stand: The schedule applies to individual exhibitor stands. Contractors working on multiple stands are not permitted to combine the m² of those stands to obtain earlier access.

Exhibitors and Contractors may only access the site for build-up on the day detailed for your specific stand type and size.

Sunday 28 February 2027: PRE-SHOW DAY RESTRICTIONS ON ACTIVITIES

No vehicle movement and no work at height is allowed on Sunday 28 February 2027. This condition is in place to encourage a safe working environment on the day before the show opens, when there will be a considerable amount of exhibitor staff present in the halls.

The following activities must be finished by 21:00 on Saturday 27 February:

  • Delivery of goods
  • Collection of empty freight & boxes
  • Collection of toolboxes
  • Movement of forklifts, cherry pickers, cranes, movable platforms
  • Placement of heavy exhibits
  • Rigging
  • Securing of safety chains
  • Adjustments in height of rigged elements
  • Working on stepladders or other elevation tools
  • Sanding or cutting

None of these activities will be allowed on Sunday 28 February. All rented equipment will be removed from the halls on Saturday 27 February.

On Sunday 28 February, the use of safety helmets and high visibility vests is still recommended to anyone that needs access to the site, but is not compulsory for entry as is required during the rest of the build-up period.

The above conditions should be incorporated into the production schedule for all space only stands.

Catering During Build-up

Restaurant Mar & Terra, located on the Upper Walkway next to Garden 3, will be open for lunch during the build-up period. Pre-booking is not required for individual walk-ins and meal tickets can be purchased directly at the restaurant on the day. Groups of more than 10 people must pre-book in advance.
