Vehicle Access & Marshalling
During build-up and dismantling, an off-site Marshalling Yard will be in operation to process all trucks requiring access to the venue. All trucks and containers must report to this location and will be placed on stand-by until called forward to the venue loading docks for unloading / re-loading. This will prevent congestion on the roads and allow easier access to the loading docks. The location of the Marshalling Yard can be found here
Any exhibitor/contractor requiring either Traffic Marshalling or On-Site Handling Services, should please complete the MDS Form, which can be downloaded here. This must be completed and returned to Mohammed Nooruddin at Onsite Trading & Services W.L.L.(see Contact Info at the bottom of this page) at least 7 days prior to anticipated delivery/collection date
MARSHALLING YARD/LOADING DOCK OPERATIONS & PROCESS
- Exhibitor/contractor vehicles should report to the holding area where they will be issued with an official DECC Loading Dock Pass, subject to payment of the applicable Marshalling fee. The DECC Move-in/Breakdown Loading Dock Pass must be completed and clearly visible in the front windscreen of the vehicle
- Please note that a marshalling fee will apply to all vehicles payable at the Marshalling Yard as per below tariff (excludes any on-site handling fees)
- If any unloading services are required, such as forklift unloading from truck and delivery to stand, this must be pre-booked and will be subject to the official onsite handling tariff. Please ensure any forklift or onsite handling requests are booked at least 7 working days prior to the date of the requested service; please contact Onsite Trading and Services below for a confirmation of applicable charges and to arrange a booking. The on-site handling tariff can be downloaded here.
- With regards to re-loading after the event has finished, all stands must be broken down and ready to load before vehicles are permitted to enter the loading dock. Exhibitors/contractors are asked to inform the marshalling staff in the loading dock that they are ready to load with details of the vehicle. This will be communicated to the Marshalling Yard and the vehicle will be sent to the loading dock once suitable space is available. All vehicles must wait in the Truck Marshalling Yard until called to the loading dock.
- Under no circumstances can any truck or trailer be left in the loading docks. Once the truck is unloaded, the vehicle must be moved out of the venue. Abandoned vehicles, or those exceeding the unload time period may be towed away from site if they are hindering access to the loading dock.
- It is a condition of entry to all who require access to the Loading docks that vehicles, equipment and personal belongings may be randomly searched by DECC security upon entering and exiting the loading docks
- Movement of vehicles on the loading zone is strictly one way and there is a maximum speed limit of 10 km/h.
- Parking on the service road or pedestrian footpath is not permitted at any time.
- Once called forward from the Marhsalling Yard, all traffic must enter DECC loading area through Omar Al Mukhtar Street located in the Diplomatic Area. The service road is one-way and is deemed a tow-away zone to ensure continuous and clear flow of traffic.
